About Kedarkantha Temple
In addition to the trekking, Kedarkantha is widely known for its Shiva temple perched atop the mountain. According to legend, Lord Shiva's five body parts have emerged in five separate locations. They are collectively referred to as the Panch Kedar. One of the five kedar temples, or Pach Kedar, is the Kedarkantha Temple.
The Kedarkantha Temple is surrounded by a lot of legends. Some people think that when a bull started galloping around while Lord Shiva was here to meditate, he left and proceeded to Kedarnath to meditate.
Another tale holds that when the Pandavas arrived in Kedarnath in search of Lord Shiva, the Lord attempted to flee and disguised himself as a bull. He made an effort to flee Kedanath, but Bhima held him from his hump, and five body parts appeared in five different places. At this place, Lord Shiva's neck appeared, and hence this place is widely known as Kedarkantha, meaning the neck of Lord Shiva.
Whatever the case may be, it is undeniable that Kedarkantha is an important pilgrimage site. As a result, Kedarkantha is an ideal destination for both pilgrims and adventure seekers.
