Kedarnath temple is all set to open on May 10, 2025, on the occasion of Akshay Triytiya. The official announcement of the opening date of Kedarnath temple was made by the head priest of Ukhimath on March 8, 2025, on the occasion of Mahashivratri. The doli of Lord Kedar will depart from the Ukhimath temple on May 6 and reach the Kedarnath temple, taking multiple halts at Guptkashi, Phata, and Gaurikud. The doli will finally reach Kedarnath on May 9, 2025.

Gold plating has been done on the walls, ceilings, and four pillars of the temple. Even though priests opposed it temple committee completed the process on the 26th of October.
